Shear Power. Pure Canaloplasty.

Shear Clear™ Technology is iTrack™ Advance's approach to viscoelastic delivery.

Ever wonder what would happen if viscoelastic during canaloplasty wasn’t so… viscous?

Shear Clear™ Technology transforms cohesive viscoelastic into a low-viscosity fluid during canaloplasty, enabling it to circulate more freely and penetrate deeper into the trabecular outflow pathway.

The Science Behind the Power

What is Shear Thinning?
Viscoelastic shearing — or shear thinning — is how viscoelastic temporarily changes viscosity under the high shear stresses generated by Shear Clear™ Technology.
1
At rest, cohesive viscoelastic behaves like a high-viscosity gel.
2
Shear forces in iTrack™ Advance temporarily transform the viscoelastic into a fluid-like state.
3
Shear forces are released, returning the viscoelastic to its original gel-like state.

What is Shear Clear™ Technology?
Viscoelastic shearing — or shear thinning — is how viscoelastic temporarily changes viscosity under the high shear stresses generated by Shear Clear™ Technology.
The patented internal micro-architecture of the microcatheter — including a woven nitinol guidewire — generates controlled turbulence that maximises shear stress.

The ViscoInjector™ connects via a 24-inch infusion line, through which viscoelastic is pushed under high pressure to maximise shear stress.

Shear Clear™ Technology at a Glance

Once thinned with shear force, viscoelastic can circulate more freely within Schlemm's canal.*

Visible intraoperative blanching of the limbus vessels and episcleral venous system may illustrate this effect.*
The thinned viscoelastic may penetrate deeper into the trabecular outflow pathway, including collector channels.*

As post-delivery shear forces dissipate, the viscoelastic regains viscosity.
