About

His clinical focus includes refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma treatments, where he has pioneered several advanced procedures in Northeast Ohio—including being among the first in the region to offer laser-assisted refractive cataract surgery. William has performed more than 50,000 cataract and refractive procedures, notably including cataract surgery on Ana, a 1.5-pound Golden Lion Tamarin monkey at the Akron Zoo—the smallest mammal on record to undergo the procedure. He serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University and is Chief Medical Editor for Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today (CRST). His work reflects a real enthusiasm for pushing boundaries in eye surgery, from innovative techniques to unique challenges.
