Rachel Gartell Simpson, MD, is an ophthalmologist and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah. She serves as Vice Chair of Education, overseeing and directing the residency program—one of the nation's top-ranked programs in ophthalmology. Rachel participates in the YoungMD program to connect trainees with mentors and chairs the Interventional Glaucoma Consortium, an annual gathering of leading glaucoma specialists. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Her work focuses on the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, including minimally invasive techniques, as well as cataracts and advanced anterior segment cases.
